About

I was a horse until I was fourteen. For fourteen years I ripped holes in the knees of every pair of pants I owned from galloping around school on my hands and knees at my feeble attempts to act like a horse. I trained bikes and turned them out to graze, mastered stick horse riding and held shows with my mom as a judge. I had a herd of about 30 Breyer horses that have traveled “great distances” as I moved them from room to room as a child, searching for the best grazing grounds and hiding from rogue cowboys who wanted to tame and sell my wild herd.

The Phoenix Filly is a site for horse lovers and equestrian enthusiasts -for the men and women who never grew out of horses, find them fascinating, and for those who love these creatures.  Horses are an expensive hobby, and I hope there are some tips and tricks on this blog that can help you keep and properly care for your horse(s) within your financial capabilities.

All breeds and disciplines are welcomed here, there is no judgement- only a united love for horses and the equestrian lifestyle.

whinnies and nickers,
