Best Facebook Groups for Horse Owners

facebook groups for horse ownersFacebook groups! There is a group for anyone and everything on Facebook, including horse owners. Are you part of any already? I have joined quite a few horse-related groups, and I have learned a LOT.

If you’re looking to buy or sell tack, horses, farm equipment, get opinions on your riding, advice, vet-related questions, horse care hacks and information and SO much more, there is a group for you.

I have joined a couple of horse groups in my specific area too. They provide information on farriers, local veterinarians, tack, and places to board. You can do a search on Facebook to find equestrian-based groups near your city or in your state.

As always, if you are in search of something on these groups or are offering something instead, be polite. Everyone has an opinion about everything. Report any rudeness or harassment to the group’s admins or simply block that person. This will help keep the threads clean and allow useful answers and advice through.

Most of the groups on Facebook have rules you have to read and accept before they will allow you in. Failure to comply with these rules can get you removed from the group.

Here are a few of the groups that I really enjoy. I hope you check them out!

Arizona Horse Corner

Ok, yes, this is catered to those that live in or are visiting Arizona. I love this group because I do live in the Phoenix area. I have found boarding, my farrier, and other horse-related information through this group. Check to see if there is one around your city to join!

Horse Vet Corner

This group is VERY adamant on the rules! You can post a vet-related issue about your horse or a question, but only an APPROVED VETERINARIAN can answer. If any non-vets try to answer or offer advice, they can be expelled from the group. This group is very large – over 150k! There are some great questions and veterinarian answers and recommendations and I have learned a TON from this group.

NOTE** this is not the place for emergencies. If you have an emergency and your horse is suffering or injured, please call your veterinarian immediately.

Equestrian Memes and Funnies

This one is just for fun 😊 Some of these are hilarious! This is a great place to relate to like-minded others with horse humor! Try out this group if you are looking for some fun and laughter.

Ingenious Horse Care Tips from Seasoned Horse People

This is another group I have learned a lot from. There are all sorts of questions ranging from stable care to manes and tails, pasture care, manure disposal – just about everything. Try this Facebook group for horse owners if you are looking for an answer or just for some interesting reading.

Horse Conformation Education

facebook groups for horse owners

I was surprised to learn that most knowledge about horse conformation is severely lacking. This group is knowledgeable and can point out conformation advantages and disadvantages on horses. Be polite and respectful when analyzing other horses or when asking for conformation critique on your own. Any offenders will be removed from this group. This is a wonderful place to learn more about horse conformation in all breeds and sizes.

Saddle Fit Questions and Answers

Another fantastic Facebook group for equestrians. This group can help you learn how to find the perfect saddle – both English and Wester- for your horse. This is the kind of information you can learn and use your entire equestrian life!

DIY Horse Hacks

This group offers some clever and interesting ways to clean tack, blankets, and solve day-to-day issues or answer questions horse owners have.

These groups represent just a few of my favorites. I am in many others including high-end show clothing for sale, English tack trader, western saddles for sale, and equine massage. Try a few of these out or find a group that helps you with your horsey needs. There is most likely an equestrian group that can help answer your questions or find what you need.
