Product Review: EquiMedic Kit (Basic Kit)

The EquiMedic kits are perfect for horse owners. EquiMedic is a brand that creates and packages the perfect equine firstequine first aid kit aid kits together in case of an emergency. Horses seem to find ways to get new scratches or bites or injuries all the time. Injuries can also occur from trailering, trail rides, pasture accidents, and more. These kits provide the means to administer basic first aid to help cover a wound, stop bleeding, or clean an area for bandaging. Perfect and ideal for every horse owner.

Equine First Aid Kit

I received my EquiMedic Basic First Aid Kit as a gift (thanks sis!) and I love it. Mine is the Basic/Complete Kit and it FULL of goodies I can use (and already have) for mild injuries. It comes in a sturdy zipper bag. The bag itself is soft-sided and it is made of a sturdy polyester material. It has a swivel hook inside much like the shower caddie you can take when traveling that hang up in your bathroom. I like that because I can hang it up in the barn or in my trailer when I travel to shows. I can also hang it by the outer carrying handle. I like the bright red color because I can spot it easily and grab in case of an emergency.

There are a few zipper pockets to store some supplies, and the inside does have some pockets to hold the bottles and some of the other liquids that come with the kit so they do not tip over or spill. The bag with all the content weighs about 5-6 pounds.

EquiMedic rates this bag to service 1-3 horses before needing additional supplies or a larger kit. It you have a large boarding barn or stable or have more than 3 horses, a bigger kit may suit your needs better.  You could also purchase a smaller kit, such as the Basic and keep it in your trailer.
