Abandoned Horses Get a Second Chance

Early Morning, Equestrian, HorseIn Licking County, Ohio, Sally Shaffer is a heaven-sent angel to abandoned animals – particularly horses.  Sally has a full-time job in the medical field but still rescues abandoned horses- spending up to another 40 hours per week just on their care and comfort.

Sally provides the ultimate safe haven at her farm called Autumn Lane Farm. She nurses the weak and elderly horses back to health and provides medical attention to those that are suffering from ailments.

Sally also races racehorses, which helps with the vet and care bills for her herd.

Sally provides a healthy, safe environment for many of these older horses to spend their remaining years in. These horses were abandoned for whatever reason, and Sally is there to pick up the pieces.

She urges people to have a contingency plan for their horses and other animals if you find yourself struggling or if life falls apart.

The rescues will find peace at Autumn Lane Farm thanks to a wonderful caring woman. Thank you, Sally.
