Queen Elizabeth Still Riding at 93

Queen Elizabeth is still an equestrian at heart. The 93-year-old monarch joined her head groom Terry Pendry on a leisurely horseback ride around the lovely Windsor Castle grounds.

The Queen has been a longtime equestrian and has been known for her involvement equestrian competitions as well as owning and caring for horses for the entirety of her life. The Queen donned a light headscarf, sunglasses, and a long coat riding her black horse around the grounds.

Every year the popular Royal Windsor Horse Show is hosted by the Queen. She has long been known for her involvement in breeding thoroughbreds, Highland ponies as well as Fell ponies.

Although the rides are not as long or frequent as they were when the Queen was younger, she still takes to the saddle.

Horseback riding has been the Queen’s favorite leisure time activity.
